Blue Majik Smoothie
This Blue Majik smoothie brings me so much joy every time I drink it. It may look naughty because of its vibrant purple color, but it’s jam packed with nutrition. It’s rich in Omega-3 fatty acids, antioxidants, it’s anti-inflammatory, high in fiber, and overall a healthy and fun way to get some nutrition in. Color is a big mood lifter, and if you eat/drink something that looks beautiful and brings you joy at the same time, your body and cells take in that joy and nutrition and deliver it where it needs to go in your body. I’ve been wanting to try Blue Majik in a recipe because of its vibrant blue color, and I’m so happy I finally did it.
What is Blue Majik?
Blue Majik is simply blue spirulina, and is a natural food coloring made from the dried biomass of Arthrospira platensis, commonly referred to as “blue-green algae.” Blue Majik is a great source of protein, vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. It has many health benefits, including improved energy levels, better digestion, and reduced inflammation and may improve cardiovascular health and enhance cognitive function.
This smoothie is nutrient dense, full of antioxidants from the blueberries and Blue Majik, healthy Omega-3 fats from the coconut butter and hemp oil, lots of fiber from the dates and blueberries. It also is a natural mood booster from the color alone. If you’re looking for a way to get your kids to drink some nutrition, then have them try this smoothie. I mean what kid wouldn’t want to drink a purple smoothie?
