cranberry orange sauce

Serves: 3 cups
  • 1 (12-ounce) bag fresh cranberries, rinsed
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon crushed or ground cloves
  • zest of 1 orange
  • 1 orange, peeled and cut into small chunks
  1. Combine all of the ingredients into a medium saucepan.
  2. Bring sauce to a boil; reduce the heat to a simmer, and cook, stirring occasionally until most of the cranberry skins pop, and the sauce has thickened slightly.
  3. Take off the heat and let cool completely before serving.
  4. Keep sauce stored in the refrigerator.
