2 Ingredient Dark Chocolate Magic Shell

Hey, it’s Monday and Monday’s are not the easiest for anyone. Monday’s should be fun, because it’s the start of a new week, a new day, so, I’ve decided to change your Monday around and post a fun treat and create a bit of magic for you all.  You all remember magic shell right? It’s the chocolate stuff that instantly hardens when poured over ice cream. It’s pretty awesome, and not only loved by the kids, but loved by me as well!

2-Ingredient Chocolate Mousse with Coconut Sugar Whipped Cream

This chocolate mousse is one of our favorite desserts, and we actually call this Zoe’s mousse because she’s the one who makes it all of the time. Well, actually Zoe’s the one who originally found this recipe years ago in a William-Sonoma kids cookbook. I first featured this chocolate mousse recipe back in 2012 (wow, so many years ago) in a series I was starting up called, “cooking with kids.” It was a series where Zoe and her peeps would make a kid friendly recipe, take photos and then  write and put the post together. We did 2 posts in the series, one featuring this chocolate mousse and another one featuring, easy 2-ingredient homemade dark magic shell. After that, Zoe got busy with life and school, and the series sort of ended. I would love to bring the series back, because I would love to have more recipes on the blog that kids can make on their own (with parent supervision of course).

The best gluten free brownies

The Best Gluten-Free Brownies

I know it’s a bit presumptuous to call these “THE BEST GLUTEN-FREE BROWNIES,” but to be honest, they’re the best I’ve tasted, and they also happen to be a gluten-free version of my favorite brownie ever, so you might say that I’m a bit biased, but I’m a bit of brownie and chocolate cake addict, so I happen to know a thing or two about chocolate desserts, and I know tasty brownie when I try one. If you like fudgey, chocolaty and rich brownies, then you’re going to LOVE these!

Homemade almond joy and mounds bars

Homemade Almond Joy and Mounds Bars

There’s no better way to steer your kids away from all of the store-bought Halloween candy than to make up a healthy homemade alternative. For years, my family has been making healthier versions of classic candy favorites like homemade peanut butter cups, homemade dark chocolate bark and these no-bake, vegan Almond Joy bars. These bars are an easy and fun recipe to make with the kids. For parents concerned about nut allergies, you can make the classic Mounds bar, because as they say, “Sometimes you feel like a nut, sometimes you don’t” These bars are vegan, no-bake and take about 30 minutes to make. So come on, let’s make up some bars!

Chocolate Oreo ice cream

Chocolate Oreo Ice Cream

This chocolate Oreo ice cream tastes like my favorite ice cream from Sebastian Joe’s in Minneapolis. It’s pure, creamy, full of big chunks of Oreo cookie, and it’s oh so chocolaty. It’s not too rich tasting nor too bland, it’s just perfect.

Marin Mama frozen s'mores

Frozen S’mores

Here’s the perfect summer s’more for those hot summer nights. These s’mores are a twist from the traditional s’mores because the chocolate is on the outside and they’re frozen. Yes, they’re frozen, am I tempting you yet? The best part is that they can be made year round, as they are cooked under a broiler instead of roasted over a campfire. So for those of you that don’t have a backyard fire pit, you’re in luck.

the best chocolate chip cookie skillet cookie

The Best Chocolate Chip Skillet Cookie

Why am I calling this the best chocolate chip skillet cookie? I mean thats a pretty bold statement, right? Well, I have tested this cookie out on my family and friends and we think this cookie rocks. I took my absolute favorite chocolate chip cookie recipe, threw it in a 12-inch cast-iron skillet, topped it with a bit of sea salt, and oh my, it turned into this delicious PARTY cookie. Yes, you heard me right, party cookie, because you will want to throw a party when you make this cookie. The chips are all gooey and melty and you feel like you’re eating a slice of the best cookie pie. Top it off with a scoop of ice-cream and some hot fudge, and you have the best cookie sundae ever!
