Heirloom tomato season is in full swing and Marin mama can’t get enough of them. I simply LOVE heirloom tomatoes! Heirloom tomatoes are sweet, juicy and have an intense one of a kind flavor, they’re not bland like most grocery store varieties. This salad speaks and breathes summer. The abundance of colorful greens and fresh herbs all tossed together with a basil vinaigrette.
This summer berry crisp has no added sugar, because to be honest, it doesn’t need it. Why mask the natural sweetness of ripe berries with sugar?
I just had to post this farro salad because I’m literally making it ALL the time, (obsessed) and the kids and I are devouring it. It’s SO simple to make and pairs with just about anything, chicken, steak, fish, you name it. It’s even awesome on its own, and makes the perfect salad to bring to your next picnic or potluck.
If you’re a fan of garbanzo beans or chickpeas (whatever you want to call them) then you will LOVE them all crispy and crazy! Hmmm…. maybe that’s what I should call them, crazy crispy chickpeas,
“Grab-and-go” breakfasts are a huge part of my life these days. Weekday mornings are hectic, and some mornings I just want something that I can quickly grab from the fridge and take with me and chow down on the ferry, or in the office. I just love overnight refrigerator oats, because they’re ULTRA EASY to make, (takes just 5 minutes), are ready to go in the morning, and healthy to boot!
Hey, it’s Monday and Monday’s are not the easiest for anyone. Monday’s should be fun, because it’s the start of a new week, a new day, so, I’ve decided to change your Monday around and post a fun treat and create a bit of magic for you all. You all remember magic shell right? It’s the chocolate stuff that instantly hardens when poured over ice cream. It’s pretty awesome, and not only loved by the kids, but loved by me as well!
We’re a burger loving household. I swear we crave a burger about once a week! We love all types of burgers from turkey, chicken, to buffalo and veggie. Burgers make such an easy weeknight meal because all you have to do is form the patties, toss them on the grill, pair with them with a simple salad or roasted vegetable, and voila, dinner is served. Easy peasy weeknight cooking!
If you’re looking for an easy, healthy, gluten-free, dairy-free, vegan, grab and go breakfast that will keep you full for hours, then you have to try these overnight refrigerator steel cut oats with chia and strawberries. This is my go-to travel and weekend breakfast. I make these oats all the time to take to Tahoe, so I have an easy breakfast to eat in the car on the way to the slopes.
