Homemade Coconut Hemp Milk

Homemade coconut hemp milk.

This homemade coconut hemp milk is ultra easy to make, creamy, flavorful, full of healthy fats and protein, (hemp seeds are a complete protein) and the bonus is that there’s no soaking of nuts and no straining through a nut milk bag. Making this hemp milk is as easy as 1.2.3.

Hemp milk has a bad rap of being flavorless, as well as thin in texture, but I solved that problem by adding full fat coconut milk, shredded coconut and coconut butter to the mixture, the result is flavor, richness and creaminess.

It’s always good to rotate out alternative milks, as you can develop allergic hypersensitivity to the milks  you drink the most, for instance almond milk, so it’s good to switch it up. Why not switch it up and give this milk a try.

This homemade coconut hemp milk is ultra easy to make, creamy, flavorful, full of healthy fats and protein, (hemp seeds are a complete protein) and the bonus is that there's no soaking of nuts and no straining through a nut milk bag.

    Ingredients

    • 2 cups filtered water

    • 1 cup unsweetened canned coconut milk – I love Native Forest Simple, as it has no guar or gums and comes in BPA free cans – make sure to shake the can, and get the one where you can hear the milk swishing around, as it will be easier to work with.

    • 1 cup hemp seeds

    • 1 tablespoon raw coconut butter

    • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

    • Pinch pink Himalayan sea salt

    Directions

    • I have a video in the above post that shows you just how easy it is to make this coconut hemp milk.

    • Put the above ingredients into a high powered blender and blend until completely smooth. You don't need to strain the hemp milk, but if you try it and want it completely smooth, then feel free to strain it using a nut milk  bag.

    • Store hemp milk in the refrigerator in a glass container fit with a lid. Hemp milk will be good for 4-5 days. Shake well before using.

    Notes:

    • I used 3 cups liquid instead of the standard 4 cups to make the milk richer and creamier.
